Kingdom Day is proud to partner with our current churches. It's our belief that every church should be involved in education in some way shape or form: homeschool, private school, free Bible classes for students, life skills classes, etc.
Why should churches be involved in education? What’s the goal?
Bringing kingdom here. Kingdom learning. Kingdom truth. Kingdom creativity. Kingdom power.
“The diving vocation and call is to build. To rule. To bring order and shalom to bear over everything we touch. And to do it justly, wisely and lovingly. To bring order, goodness and beauty in the world where there currently isn’t any.” - Jefferson Bethke
“Imagine a society where the love for people, beauty and creative expressions in commerce, education, health and politics [is] centered around loving God well.” - Bill Johnson
“Each of us has a right and responsibility to express ourselves creatively in whatever area interests us.” - Bill Johnson
Zechariah 1:19-21 states:
“So I asked the angel who was speaking with me, ‘What are these?’ and he told me, ‘These are the horns that have scattered Judah, Israel and Jerusalem.’ Then the Lord showed me four craftsmen. ‘What are these coming to do?’ I asked. And He replied, ‘These are the horns that scattered Judah so that no one could raise his head; but the craftsmen have come to terrify them and throw down these horns of the nations that have lifted up their horns against the land of Judah to scatter it.”
The Lord has unusual ways of winning battles. In these verses, the craftsmen, the artisans, the creators, throw down those who oppose Judah. We are living in unusual times. Unusual times call for creative solutions. Unfortunately, much of modern education buries the natural creativity of children. We need to prepare a generation of Kingdom individuals who will champion the next level of creative solutions in each area of society: media, government, education, family, religion, arts, and commerce.
“Children up to age 4 are operating at a genius level. The same group of children were studied in their 20s, and only 10% were still operating at a genius or what we call the ‘brilliance level’ and in their late 20s, early 30s only 2% were operating at the genius or brilliance level.
“So the question I had is, where did this genius or brilliance go? It didn’t go anywhere but became buried by society that says ‘colour within the lines, sit down, give it back, you can’t do this.”
-Simon T. Bailey
The Church needs to be the place where creativity flourishes and solutions to the world’s problems are heaven-sent. We need to be the place that supports the family unit so that kids thrive, a place where they can truly be trained in the way they should go, which is unique to each child. As the Church, it’s time for us to rise up and offer a solution to the education dilemma.
They taught throughout Judah, taking with them the Book of the Law of the Lord; they went around to all the towns of Judah and taught the people. The fear of the Lord fell on all the kingdoms of the lands surrounding Judah. 2 Chronicles 17:9-10a (emphasis mine)
As instructed throughout scripture, we cannot abdicate our role of teaching the generations. Together we can create a life-giving community, a cooperation between families, bringing goodness and order into our spheres of influence to the end that His kingdom come, His will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.
